Finance & Administration
The KFN Finance department provides centralized finance services to the Nation, Chief and Council, program managers, staff and Members. Our work is guided by the Kahkewistahaw Administration Law and its Financial Policy, and maintains the financial integrity and credibility of Kahkewistahaw First Nation, while supporting its goals.
Kahkewistahaw has attained its Financial Performance Certification for good financial management, and our steering committee continues to work towards the Financial Management Systems Certification, which ensures compliance with good financial and organizational management. These accreditations, from the First Nations Financial Management Board, speak to the integrity of this department, Kahkewistahaw First Nation and its Chief and Council.
The Finance & Administration department compiles and produces the KFN annual report, which is available to all Members. It also works with each KFN department to ensure finances are kept within annual budgets, and performs yearly audits of the 1907 Trust, the Kahkewistahaw Economic Management Corporation, and the Kahkewistahaw Annual Financial Audit.
