SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Administrative Receptionist is a support position to the staff members at the Kahkewistahaw First Nation Administration Centre. The Administrative Receptionist will be supervised by the Human Resource Manager with an overall accountability to the Chief and Council. The Receptionist will provide clerical support to the Administration Staff and Chief and Council. They will also be responsible for directing incoming and outgoing calls and taking messages for the appropriate staff or Chief and Council, but not limited to. Record and distribute incoming mail to the appropriate department and staff. Responsible for staff itineraries, ordering office supplies and responding to band members requests.
REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent, but not necessary.
- Two (2) years of practical experience would be an asset.
- Have a strong knowledge of office procedures and techniques, such as the phone system, faxing, photocopying, scanning.
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with software programs such as word, excel, power point, email, and database programs.
- Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the administrative offices.
- Must have excellent communication skills to deal with the public, membership, external agencies, and Chief & Council.
- Must be able to take direction with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Must possess excellent organizing skills; be punctual, reliable and dependable.
- The ability to maintain the management of confidential information and must be prepared to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
