POSITION: CREE LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR
WAGE RANGE: AS PER CKCS SALARY GRID
CLASSIFICATION: CONTRACT, FULL-TIME
Chief Kahkewistahaw Community School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Cree Language Instructor to help lead language revitalization efforts within our school. The main goal of this role is to help students connect to who they are through language, traditions, and culture. They will teach Cree to students from Pre-K to Grade 12, promote daily language use, and help integrate Cree culture into the school environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Fluency in the Cree Language.
- Work with minimum supervision and be able to take and follow directions.
- Knowledge of Cree Culture, Traditions, and Protocols.
- Must be in good physical condition due to the physical demands of the job.
- Promote and maintain positive teamwork and be courteous, cooperative in a professional manner and ensure matters remain confidential.
- Must have CPR and First Aid (or willing to receive immediately.)
- Submit a pre-employment drug screen within thirty days of commencing employment.
- Must submit three references with an updated resume and cover letter, and current Vulnerable Sector check.
