POSITION: HEALTH RECEPTIONIST
DEPARTMENT: HEALTH
WAGE RANGE: BASED ON QUALIFICATIONS
CLASSIFICATION: PERMANENT, FULL-TIME
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Health Receptionist provides clerical support services to the staff of the Kahkewistahaw Health. The Health Receptionist is supervised by the Health Director with overall accountability to the Health Portfolio Councillor and Chief & Council. The Health Receptionist is responsible for the maintenance of health central files, medical files, supplies and equipment inventories.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for answering phones and relaying messages to the appropriate staff in a professional and courteous manner/distributing faxes to the appropriate staff.
- Greet the general public and directing members, professionals and clients to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain the Health central filing systems in a neat and organized manner.
- Responsible for maintaining the daily, weekly and monthly itineraries of the Health Staff and Director of Health.
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Possess a grade 12 or equivalent.
- Have the skills to operate a computer with MS Office applications and working knowledge of database management.
- Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to function as a health team member.
- Have excellent written communication skills with absolute attention to detail in the management of manual and electronic health records.
- Have sound knowledge of how health policies and regulations.
- Possess the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment and be sensitive to the health issues of the Kahkewistahaw First Nation community.
- Must sign an Oath of Confidentiality on a yearly basis.
- Submit three current references, an updated cover letter and resume.
