POSITION: HOME CARE NURSE

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Care Nurse to join our health care team, serving Kahkewistahaw First Nation. This full-time, permanent position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community wellness through proactive health care, education, and support. The Home Care Nurse reports directly to the Director of Health
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide culturally appropriate, client-centred nursing care to community clients.
- Conduct home visits, health assessments, and screenings
- Administer immunizations and other treatments as required.
- Develop and deliver health education programs tailored to community needs, (e.g., chronic disease management, maternal health, nutrition).
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with health regulations.
- Respond to community health emergencies as needed.
- Promote wellness and preventive health measures throughout the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing, Registered Nurse (RN) with current license in Saskatchewan
- Experience in community health, public health, or primary care nursing is an asset.
- Strong understanding of First Nations health priorities, cultural practices, and community dynamics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess the ability to maintain the management of confidential information in a manner that protects the rights of the First Nation.
- Must have CPR and First Aid.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Submit a pre-employment drug screen and current Criminal Records check within thirty days of commencing employment.
- Must submit three references with an updated resume and cover letter.
