POSITION:               LANDS & RESOURCES ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

WAGE RANGE:      BASED ON QUALIFICATIONS

CLASSIFICATION: TERM ONE (1) YEAR, FULL-TIME

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Kahkewistahaw First Nation Director of Lands. The Lands & Regulatory Administrative Assistant will perform an array of administrative duties. The primary role of the Lands & Regulatory Administrative Assistant is to provide mid-level support to the Lands & Regulatory Manager/Department. The position will ensure the effective and efficient administration of all facets of the Lands & Regulatory department and issues relating to lands management for Kahkewistahaw First Nation. Any other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  1. Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent with a diploma in Administration or Business.
  2. Minimum two (2) years’ experience in office administration capacity.
  3. Experience in event coordination and project management.
  4. Knowledge of community and Aboriginal land issues.
  5. Contract negotiation and development experience.
  6. Provide quality and effective administrative support to the lands department (directing phone calls, emails, correspondence, schedules/appointments, dictation, meeting attendance, minute taking, and other daily routines).
  7. Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills — oral and written.
  8. Possess the ability to maintain the management of confidential information and must be prepared to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
  9. Possess a valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle.
  10. Must submit an application that includes an updated Cover Letter, Resume and three (3) references.
