Class B Safety Patrollers (Ride-Alongs)
Expansion of Kahkewistahaw Safety Patrol Services
Dear Community Members,
We are pleased to announce the expansion of the Kahkewistahaw Safety Patrol and the introduction of Class B Safety Patrollers (Ride-Alongs). These individuals will accompany current staff and the additional security personnel we will be bringing in soon. Unlike primary patrollers, Class B Safety Patrollers do not require a driver’s license to participate, allowing more community members to take an active role in ensuring the safety of our Nation.
In addition to supporting existing staff, these Ride-Alongs will serve as Community Guides for the security reinforcements arriving for a four-week term beginning April 17.
This initiative has been developed in anticipation of the Agriculture Benefits Distribution. The Agriculture Benefits Safety Team, composed of Chief and Council, administrative staff, and program managers, has been working diligently to assess potential challenges and implement the best strategies to address concerns.
The Safety Patrol will operate 24 hours a day for at least 28 days, ensuring continuous coverage during this critical period. We recognize this as both a challenge and an opportunity to enhance our services. Furthermore, the Ride-Along program will extend beyond the payout phase, providing long-term benefits to the community and creating employment opportunities for members.
How to Participate:
Interested individuals are encouraged to register with the Human Resources Department and provide an updated resume. This program expansion is set to commence on April 17, 2025 and further details will be shared with registered candidates as we move forward.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Stan Bobb
Safety Services Coordinator
